"I've got a little book with pages three, And every page spells liberty"

It seems that we in North America must still look abroad to find honest criticism of the Neocon Robber Barons currently ruining the world.

Harry Belafonte, in the company of Danny Glover and Cornell West, had this to say to Hugo Chavez in Venezuela during his weekly broadcast to the nation's people:

"No matter what the greatest tyrant in the world, the greatest terrorist in the world, George W. Bush says, we're here to tell you: Not hundreds, not thousands, but millions of the American people ... support your revolution,"

Say it loud and clear Mr. Belafonte, millions around the world agree.

Thought I'd inject a little NY cynicism here by declaring my fear that all this Bush-hate will manifest itself in another Clinton-like administration upon which most of the protestors will return home. Remember, when Bill was running things, he too was the greatest tyrant in the world. It's part of the job description.

You might be right about that MZ. I wonder though, if it isn't time. Time for leaders like Chavez to galvanize parts of the world that have been divided or working at cross purposes; they might see some real social progress if they make sufficient political gains and wrest hold of the purse-strings of their resources.

It's certain that tyranny is part of the job description, and it's certain that natural resources will be plundered ruthlessly until they're gone; maybe the likes of Chavez can reap some social benefits of real value while the gettings' good.

And it's nice to see you back for a visit. Your NY cynicism is always welcome.
