The Canadian government needs to know that while fishermen are out catching our dinner, we 'consumers' (gawd I hate using that word!) do care about, and want to ensure that the region's ecosystem is saved from destruction.
Sign the WWF petition to help save a region in our nation that is dangerously close to complete ecological collapse: The Grand Banks, off the shores of Newfoundland.
In this region, tonnes of marine life is being caught unintentionally, and dumped overboard dead or dying every year because of appalling fishing practices.
Among this "bycatch" are scores of endangered leatherback turtles, dolphins, porpoises, and ancient cold-water corals. As a result, the Grand Banks’ entire ecosystem is at risk.
